Slice House by Tony Gemignani - Meridian: Reviews & Ratings
Check this place out! I can tell it is going to be very popular. They offer pizza by the slice, whole pizzas, pasta, salad, and dessert. We got the Pigman and the Huckleberry Pie slices. Both were very good. One slice is a meal, for under $10. The crust is crunchy and chewy. Go easy on the chili olive oil, it is spicy hot. Parking is going to be a problem with the martial arts studio next door.
The pizza here is everything you imagined & more. We came with friends (warning: indoor seating for large parties is limited), ordered a large NY pepperoni & a Detroit style (tomato sauce topping). The tomato sauce is gently tangy, light, & blessedly not sweet. It matches with gooey cheese & small, thin pepperoni cups. Crust is outstandingly crispy & flavorful on its own. If you're not feeling pizza, they have decent meatball subs, pastas, wings, & salads. Staff is exceedingly patient, but efficient. Only wish there were more restroom stalls. Outside patio.
We were so lucky to get a sneak peek of the brand new Slice House by Tony Gemignani in Meridian at a private event tonight—it’s not even open to the public until November 1st! This was our first time, and wow, it did not disappoint. The owner was walking around, incredibly friendly, and our server, Dani, was so helpful explaining all the different pizza styles. We tried "The Wise Guy" and it was absolutely amazing. The cool, creamy ricotta cheese on top was the perfect touch that connected all the flavors of the savory sausage and spicy soppressata. Just incredible. Meridian, you have a real winner here. Mark your calendars for November 1st
Had the opportunity to visit the soft opening here, Idaho...if you arent already, get excited. I had a random opportunity to visit their soft opening and let me tell you, I have been reading about this chain coming here and was very intrigued and apparently rightly so because the pizza is fantastic. I tried the wise guy, very standard assortment of Italian flavors but done exceptionally well. The sausage is absolutely incredible as is the dough. My friend ordered the Huckleberry Pizza that is exclusive to Idaho and to be honest, I was skeptical, sweet and savory thing can be very iffy for me. I was foolish to doubt the combo, it actually worked better than you'd think and I would highly recommend. Someone on staff suggested a sausage dish they have that features like a hot honey. This is something I would never have ordered in my own, but I see why he recommended it. Absolutely insane flavor, 100% worth trying, my friend said she would come back just for that alone and I agree, I would too. The hires they made all seemed customer service oriented and enthusiastic and my service experience was excellent. Truly not saying this for the free slice of pizza, this place is epic and you need to know...the hype is worth it. Fir a place designed around the concept of selling slices, this place is tops.
We are big pizza eaters and are pretty picky when it comes to our pies. Slice House did not disappoint! Everything was so incredibly delicious!! So many options, can’t wait to go back and try some different kinds and styles. Fantastic service, so helpful and patient! Seriously can’t wait to go back!
I’ve tried nearly every pizza spot in the treasure valley. I went to slice house for the first time today and it’s by far the absolute best place. No flop or slop in the pizza, each bite had a great crunch, the flavor all around was solid, the bad reviews I’ve seen are laughable. The place just opened so of course there’s not going to be any seating and yes… they're probably going to run out of pizza Overall I spent $58 (+$10 tip) for 6slices and 3 medium drinks for my parents and I. This is not a cheap place nor does it taste like cheap pizza. Prices could be a few dollars lower but I’d say it was worth it to at least try once.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the single slices you can order at the counter. You order the slice, they run it through a warmer on a conveyor belt and it comes out like it was pulled from a fresh pie. The crust is awesome, the ingredients are quality and the portions are enormous. A slice of pizza that's too wide to pick up with one hand for $7.50 is okay in my book. My favorite is the Wise Guy. Red sauce, pepperoni, sliced sausage (medium spice level), ricotta cheese blobs and some greenery. Highly recommended!
The menu is a little overwhelming and I recommend you go online first to check it out or stop by and pick up a menu. Get ready for San Francisco prices, Boise! The slices are huge, the crust thick and chewy, at $6.50 to $7.50 and the pizzas start at $24. I ordered three slices, the Huckleberry, the Wise Guy and traditional Pepperoni. My favorite was the Wise Guy, it has a very striking rustic pizza appearance without any bubbles that cause the toppings to group up. Flavorful thick sliced sausage, some thin pepperoni, ricotta, a hot pepper oil and mild green shredded onions. It’s really a great combination. Perfect for takeout, it stayed hot long, didn’t get soggy (a positive, the takeout boxes have vent holes to release the steam) had a thick layer of mozzarella and was light on the mild tomato sauce so the cheese didn’t slide off with each bite. A real winner! The pepperoni, little cups that char nicely, taste so much better than some pizza places that put the pepperoni under the cheese which mutes the flavor completely of the meat. The Huckleberry had ultra thin slices of purple and yellow flesh potatoes, plenty of cheese on a no tomato sauce pizza. To me, it cried out for a white sauce, and the bacon slices overwhelmed the other flavors. Parking is tight as they are experiencing a high volume of dine in and take out since opening November 1st. There were lines inside, but they went quickly.
